“The Crude Truth” by Dean Nothstein is a poorly researched article. Where is the discussion of the effect of financial speculation?

From Nothstein’s commentarty, “ In short, this is a pointless discussion because gas prices are controlled by basic economic principles, just like any other product or service.”

What is pointless is your ignorance of the facts. Supply is up.  Demand is down.  Prices are skyrocketing.

In the future I hope to have reason to think the Coast Report is more more than a forum for the financial services sector propaganda.
