A pair of sophomore forwards from the Orange Coast College men’s soccer team, Nicholas Cardenas and Achref Beldi, earned first-team, All-Orange Empire Conference honors for the 2018 season.

The honors were voted on by head coaches in the OEC conference at the end-of-season meeting.

With the honor, Cardenas becomes a two-time, first-team all-conference selection for OCC. He led the conference with 14 goals and 35 points.

Cardenas finishes his career with the Pirates with 27 goals, 15 assists and 69 total points.

After his second-team selection in 2017, Beldi improved to earn first-team all-conference honors by scoring 11 goals and seven assists. His 11 goals on the season were second in the OEC only behind Cardenas, and his seven assists were tied for third in the OEC.

Beldi finishes his tenure at Coast with 20 total goals and 14 assists.

OCC had a strong season on defense focused around freshman goalkeeper Thiago Lino Da Costa who played 1,755 minutes and allowed an average of 1.33 goals per game. Da Costa was rewarded with second-team, all-conference honors alongside freshman defender Cayden Bonner.
