The Associated Students of Orange Coast College is hosting “Brunch with your Student Government” on Friday at 10 a.m via Zoom.

The hour-long event will include games and giveaways, and give students the opportunity to meet and interact with OCC student senators and executive board members.

“Our goal is to get to know [students] better and see what we can provide for them,” said sophomore Katherine Smith, Student Senate President. “We want [students] to know that we'll be able to assist them and also provide fun events and college experiences for them.”

The ASOCC Student Senators are elected every spring. They join a governing body that advocates for students by writing and passing student government policies and resolutions. They also administer a budget of over $1.5 million and approve financial allocations to OCC programs and clubs.

“We're able to advocate for things that [students] need in particular,” said Smith “We really want to know what students need regarding services.”
