Customers can choose from assorted chocolates, lollipops, peanut brittle and toffee – or simply buy a gift card – and their order will be delivered to them. All profits will go directly to the Children’s Center, which has a $5,000 fundraising goal, according to fundraising coordinator Mary Gallois.
The Children’s Center provides care for the children of OCC students, faculty and staff, and community members. Gallois explained that the money raised will go towards classroom supplies, especially art materials, and supplies for the animals that the Children’s Center raises.
“We have goats and chickens, so feed and supplies get expensive,” Gallois said. “We have rabbits, too. It’s mostly for feed and bedding.”
The fundraiser is taking place online due to COVID-19. The pandemic has also made it more difficult for the Children’s Center to get the funding they need.
“We used to get a supply grant, which we don’t get anymore,” Gallois said. “So we have to fundraise.”
The Children’s Center encourages doing holiday shopping on the website and forwarding the shop link to friends and family members to help the center reach their fundraising goal.
