Students on computer

Orange Coast College’s summer classes will be held online this year, Coast Community College District Chancellor John Weispfenning announced this week.

No decisions have been made about fall classes.

Weispfenning said in a video statement that for the safety of students and faculty, the college will continue with remote learning through the summer. He added that the effort to offer these classes is expected to help students reach their educational goals by not disrupting the summer session.

Much of the spring semester transitioned to online teaching after Gov. Gavin Newsome issued a statewide stay-at-home order early last month. OCC is heading into its third week offering online instruction next week.
