The Orange Coast College Speech and Debate team's return to Orange County was filled with fanfare in celebration of the college's 13th Phi Rho Pi National Championship.
On Sunday, faculty, family and friends awaited the team with signs and balloons for the team's return to John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana.Â
The team continued the celebration on Tuesday with an on-campus rally in the Literature, Languages and Social Sciences Building. OCC President Angelica Suarez and Vice President of Instruction Michelle Grimes-Hillman were among many to share their excitement.Â
The OCC community will have the chance to see the national champions in action this Thursday when they perform the Interpreter's Theatre Showcase at 5:30 p.m. in the Science Hall. A $10 cash donation is requested at the door.Â
