Thieves strike again

Several people reportedly broke into the Orange Coast College Recycling Center on Sept. 21 between 5 a.m. and 5:40 a.m.

This is the fourth reported break-in at the center over the past two months, according to Chief of Campus Safety Jim Rudy.

The suspects stole recycled electronics such as cell phones and computers. The loss is estimated to be $100.

Security cameras did record the suspects but the video is too dark to identify them.

Campus Safety has stationed a patrol unit there and will increase patrol checks in the area.

Fly ball

A car was hit by a foul baseball at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 22. The car was stopped on Monitor Way at the crosswalk.

The vehicle was hit on the left rear but there was minimal damage, according to Rudy.

Bathroom art

The men’s restroom in Watson Hall was tagged with graffiti sometime over the weekend, Rudy said.

The graffiti has been removed, and Campus Safety reported the vandalism to the Costa Mesa Police Department, Rudy said.
