Gym anger

A 27-year-old man allegedly vandalized the area outside the Basil H. Peterson Gym on Oct. 6.

According to Chief of Campus Safety Jim Rudy, the man turned over trash cans in the walkway between the men’s locker room and the gym, pulled out the rubber matting on the entrance of gym doors, carved on the gym door and cut mesh screens to the northeast of the pool fence.

The incident reportedly occurred around 4 p.m.

The Orange Coast College Maintenance and Operations department is assessing the damage and will forward information to the Costa Mesa Police Department, Rudy said.

My space

A woman was cited by the Costa Mesa Police Department on Sunday around 10:35 a.m. at the Swap Meet for vandalism and assault and battery in the Adams Avenue Parking Lot, Rudy said.

She also reportedly scratched a car in an incident that appeared to be a dispute over a vacant parking space. The car owner reportedly had children in his car.
