Game On food truck

Orange Coast College’s sports-themed food truck Game On recently updated its menu with new items that employees said reflect what students want most.

Acai bowls are out and pork is in this fall as many already existing items have been refreshed to include an option to add cherry smoked bacon for an extra charge.

Students can now enjoy a flatbread breakfast burrito called the 10K plus for $5 that includes scrambled eggs, smoked gouda, cheddar cheese and a host of vegetables.

Game On’s $2.75 macaroni and cheese snack called the Curveball now has the option to add bacon to the cheddar cheese and breadcrumb concoction.

The food truck has also taken its already existing loaded fries and put a slightly healthier spin on it. Named the TKO Salad and selling for $7, it includes either tri-tip beef or beer battered chicken and pickled red onions with a barbeque sauce. Sadly, the salad uses romaine lettuce which is being recalled all around the country right now for an E. coli outbreak so students can expect it back in the spring semester.

An employee for Game On said they are always tracking which items are selling well and which are selling poorly so they can make alterations to the menu. In the past they have seen students wanting breakfast options later in the day and now say they will cater to most requests for a breakfast item after 10:30 a.m.

Students can use the Tapingo app to order food anywhere on campus through their phone and will even be notified when the food is ready to be picked up.

Game On is located just inside the entrance to the football field behind the Math, Business and Computing Center building. It is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
